Shown below are responses to one or more frequently asked questions about medical concerns and potential medical emergencies while staying at the resort. If you don’t find an answer to your question below – or within other sections of our website – please feel free to send us an email by clicking here.

Q: I’m a little concerned about contracting some topical mosquito-borne disease like Malaria when I’m in Sangat. Should I get a prescription for anti-Malarial tablets before I arrive?

A: We are happy to report that NONE of our guests have EVER come down with Malaria in Sangat. However, if you plan to travel to other areas of the Philippines, it wouldn’t hurt to seek the advice of your doctor regarding what general precautions and/or vaccinations they might recommend before arriving in the Philippines.

We have compiled a fairly comprehensive listing of medical and health care related topics which can be viewed by clicking here.

Q: In the unlikely event of a serious or life-threatening medical emergency, how far away is the nearest hospital?

A: The nearest hospital is on Culion Island – 20 minutes away by speed boat. Culion General Hospital is appropriately equipped and staffed to handle most medical emergency issues.

For emergencies beyond the scope of Culion’s General Hospital facilities, we can arrange for a medical evacuation by helicopter or Seaplane within two hours.
