Home to a towering 455-meter mountain top (and the second highest peak in the Calamianes Island Group), as well as numerous semi-forested limestone cliff faces, Sangat Island affords a unique and wide variety of rock climbing adventures for those with the proper degree of physical conditioning, expertise… and daring!
To preserve the natural, rugged beauty of our rocky peaks and jutting cliff areas, only simple rope-assisted (sorry, no rock pins!) or free climbing excursions are allowed on our pre-mapped climbing routes.
If you plan to climb during your stay, please supply your own appropriate clothing, boots and safety gear. A flashlight will also come in handy as some of Sangat’s more interesting climbs include chains of tunnel-linked cave formations.
Due to the potential dangers involved in this activity, guided climbs and navigational assistance by one of our local staff is required.
Experienced climb-guides can be booked for US $11.00 per day.
