Shown below are responses to one or more frequently asked questions about indigenous wildlife on and around Sangat Island. If you don’t find an answer to your question below – or within other sections of our website – please feel free to send us an email by clicking here.

Q ) Are they any particularly dangerous insects, animals or marine life that I should be concerned about during my visit to Sangat?

While we do have the usual varieties of stinging insects, poisonous aquatic species, and jellyfish endemic to the region, none are particularly aggressive in our experience. However, we kindly remind guests to exercise caution and remain vigilant while enjoying the sea and land. We recommend wearing protective water shoes when exploring the shallows and using flashlights when walking around the resort grounds in the dark.

Our waters are home to a range of marine life, including stingrays, jellyfish, and stonefish, which may occasionally be found in the shallows. A common-sense approach is to avoid touching any unfamiliar land or marine animals and always be mindful of your surroundings, especially when walking around barefoot.

At Sangat, we treasure the diverse wildlife, from monitor lizards and hornbills to monkeys and more. While we respect and coexist with them, for your safety and theirs, we strongly advise against feeding or touching the wildlife.

Your safety and enjoyment are our top priorities, and we are always here to help ensure your experience is both memorable and secure.
