Our Vision is to minimise our carbon footprint whilst providing our guests with a positive holiday experience staying at the resort, through appreciating and respecting our local environment.

We pride ourselves in conserving the environment with the following initiatives:

– Maintain the natural beauty of the Resort using natural materials for structures, and respecting the surrounding nature.

– Promoting healthy and eco-friendly activities for guests.

– Managing our waste and supporting recycling initiatives. This includes minimising the use of plastics.

– Awareness of minimising the output of waste.

– Ensuring eco-efficient solar generation and consumption of energy and water.

– Purchasing and consuming products which have little or no negative impact on the environment.

– Proactively find solutions to tackle environmental issues as and when they may arise.

– Improving our stakeholders (suppliers, guests, employees, local community) network,
raising awareness on our environmental good practices and the need for compliance.

– We constantly mould sustainability champions among the staff

– Providing a plastic-free environment. We do not provide water nor any kind of drinks in plastic bottles. We use bamboo or metal straws, biodegradable plastic bags and we limit the use of single use plastic to the minimum.

The resort solar generation plant produces 220kW of power enabling the resort to be fully powered 24hrs/day by solar energy on sunny days. This energy is stored in a 200kW Lithium battery.

Since Sangat Island Dive Resort’s inception in 1994, we have been giving back to the local community. Most of our staff are from local communities adding value to the Calamian economy. Many of which have been given the opportunity to train in the country’s capital.

Together with our guest, our team contributes to various social and environmental projects. We take pride in our local participation, such as our programs with the provincial schools and our involvement with the indigenous community. We are devoted to advocating environmentally sustainable development. This can be seen in the ongoing commitment to minimising our carbon footprint through controlling our consumption of water and energy, waste production, and impact on the local communities.

Sangat Island guarantees that ecotourism will always drive our choices. We work to provide our guest with a positive holiday experience while simultaneously and tirelessly preserving the incredible destination we call home. Nevertheless, Sangat Island Dive Resort has assured plans for further developing its corporate and social responsibility action plan in the future.
